Guys, it’s the trailer for the new film by Paul Anderson! . . . No, not that one. Instead, it’s the auteur behind a couple “Resident Evil” movies, “The Three Musketeers” and “Death Race,” and he’s back once again. And this time, he’s getting volcanic. Literally.
The first teaser trailer for “Pompeii” is here and it’s about what you might expect from Anderson. A fairly cumbersome voiceover introduces a lot of murky, CGI action all scored to Muse-esque music (wait, is it Muse?), in a movie where a volcano erupting isn’t exciting enough unless there are dudes fighting each other too. “Milo is a Celt who is enslaved when he is a child and his family is killed. There’s a time cut that happens in the movie where you see me go from a child to a man, and you realize he’s been a gladiator for a long time. Eventually he’s taken to Pompeii,” Kit Harington told EW about his role. Once he’s there, he meets the lovely Emily Browning, whom he’ll do anything to be with for the rest of the movie. “It follows their story till the volcano erupts,” and after, too.
So if you’re curious, you can watch this on February 21, 2014. With 3D glasses on, of course.
