To be perfectly honest, my wife and her friends should be the ones writing this article about the new international trailer for “Pitch Perfect 2." They’re the ones who care a bit more than I do about “Glee: The Movie, But With More Talented and Charming People” a.k.a. “Pitch Perfect," and they’re not the only ones. The first movie was a surprise success, and sold a boatload of soundtracks. There’s every indication this highly anticipated sequel should be a smash hit.
The first movie had a lot of charm, mostly spearheaded by energetic and likable performances by Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson. Kendrick, Wilson, as well as the entire Barden Bellas are back for the sequel, this time directed by Elizabeth Banks, who also returns to the cast as the obnoxious presenter from the first film. “Pitch Perfect 2” represents Banks’ feature directorial debut. She previously helmed one of the many nightmarishly unfunny sketches from the cinematic abortion known as “Movie 43." Let’s hope she does a better job this time around.

The sequel looks like it brings in the same bubble gum energy from the first film, while predictably trying to raise the stakes by having The Bellas compete on the world stage. Who’s ready to hate a bunch of uptight, narcissistic Scandinavian and/or German stereotypes set up as The Bellas’ main competition? You can check out the trailer below. "Pitch Perfect 2" arrives on May 15th. [Vlicious]
