Watch: The First Trailer For Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Directorial Debut 'Don Jon'

nullAfter becoming a hit at Sundance and South by Southwest (our review called it “impressive and charming”), Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut, the porn addiction comedy “Don Jon,” finally has a trailer. And judging by the brief glimpse at the movie, it’s easy to see why audiences went loony for this – it looks pretty damn charming, with Levitt leading an amazing cast (including Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Tony Danza and Brie Larson) and an original, totally identifiable take on the modern romantic comedy.

After a rambling 40 seconds or so of Gordon-Levitt introducing the clip (just show us the goods, Robin), the trailer starts with narration by Gordon-Levitt’s “Don Jon” Martello, with the New Jersey accent slathered on nice and thick. “There’s only a few things I care about,” he says before listing them off: “My body, my pad, my ride, my family, my church, my boys, my girls and… my porn.” Until, of course, he meets Scarlett Johansson as Barbara. He falls in love and things seem to be going swimmingly until she discovers his porn addiction. Then things get sticky (pun very much intended).

There’s a great moment in the trailer where Scarlett walks in on her and she asks what he was doing, to which he replies, “I was just reading emails.” It’s pretty funny. The movie also looks incredibly stylish, with all of the actors seemingly having the time of their lives. Speaking of which, we also get a glimpse of the movie-within-the-movie, featuring Anne Hathaway and Channing Tatum. Can’t wait.

“Don Jon” opens on October 18th.
