Watch: The Invasion Begins In Clip From 'Red Dawn'

nullTo say that the infamous “Red Dawn” remake has been long delayed is an understatement — Chris Hemsworth has been in three successful blockbusters since the remake was first completed — but FilmDistrict is finally releasing the small-town USA invasion film next month in time for the second-most American holiday, Thanksgiving. In an effort to make sure all that time and effort (the villains were changed from an invading Chinese force to a North Korean one long after principal photography had wrapped) were worth it, the company is waging a campaign of its own to lure audiences to the theater and has released a brand new clip from the film.

The brief clip (via Daily Blam) shows the beginning of the North Koreans’ invasion and is as indicative of action cinema in the aughts as John Milius’ original was of its period. The remake premiered last week at Fantastic Fest and our man in Austin thought the film stood “well enough on its own as an efficient, exciting tale of teenage insurgency.”

At the very least it’ll be interesting to see Hemsworth’s first lead role since “The Avengers,” even if it was shot long before he was Thor. See the end result yourself when the Wolverines invade theaters November 21st.
