2011’s “The Muppets” arrived on a wave of nostalgia and some very savvy marketing, that converged into a final product that was a big ball of fun (remember those parody trailers?). This time around, that wistful feeling has faded, the marketing has been more traditional and Disney sort of just expects you to show up.
And here we are with a new trailer for “Muppets Most Wanted.” As per usual, everything is bigger in part two, with the story now taking our felt covered friends to Europe where they’ll fall into a criminal caper, while as always, a variety of human faces will pop by to lend assistance or be adversaries to overcome. Is it just us or is the excitement factor a bit down this time around? But hey we’re willing to be pleasantly surprised since both director James Bobin and songwriter Bret McKenzie are back in those roles.
“Muppets Most Wanted” arrives on March 21st.
