Next Thursday, at theaters nationwide, you won’t be able to see "The Interview." That’s right, as you probably already know by now, Seth Rogen and James Franco‘s comedy has been pulled from theatrical release and on any format for the time being, thanks to threats made by the still unknown hacker group Guardians Of Peace, who U.S. officials say are linked to North Korea. And the nation has had problems with the Kim Jong-Un assassination comedy from day one, but no one would’ve thought it would come to this. At any rate, only a handful of preview audiences and critics managed to see the movie before the release was canceled (read our review), and it might be a long time before your own eyeballs get a chance to see the whole thing. Well, for now, these three clips will have to suffice.
Released over the past month, you may have seen them on the site already, but we figured it would be a good time to roll them out again. They give a taste of the kind of movie that was deemed by Sony as unreleasable in the wake of threats, and what the North Korean government (who likely haven’t seen the movie) found offensive. (Granted, the film’s premise alone did more than enough to incite hostilities.) Meanwhile, JoBlo has dropped their version of the censored trailer for the movie, bleeping out anything that might cause consternation to the Supreme Leader.
Watch them all below while you can. No word yet if Sony will take these clips down too in their effort remove any trace of "The Interview."
