Greed, ambition and the American dream are consistently classic ingredients of great drama, and Brian Koppelman and David Levien stir them up into an intriguingly grand combination for "Billions." The Showtime series already is earning some serious buzz well ahead of its debut in 2016, and this brand new trailer certainly keeps up the excitement level.
Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis lead an ensemble cast including Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile and Condola Rashad in a tale of a clash of the financial titans between a U.S. attorney and a hedge fund king. Looks like it’s going to be a provocative dive into the world finance and personal gain versus public interest. Here’s the official synopsis:
BILLIONS is a bold, contemporary drama that melds the worlds of ultra-wealth, influence and corruption as personified in two highly ambitious opposing figures: hard-charging, blue-blooded, politically connected U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) and brilliant, calculating, blue-collar billionaire hedge fund king, Bobby "Axe" Axelrod (Lewis). Set amongst the Machiavellian machinations of New York City power politics and finance, BILLIONS weaves a complex, intricate narrative featuring a high-stakes game of predator-versus-prey.
"Billions" arrives on January 17th. Watch below.
