Watch: There's A Storm Coming In The New Trailer For 'Terminator Genisys'

Terminator Genisys No matter how "Terminator Genisys" turns out, at the very least it will have one thing we can count on: J.K. Simmons. Guaranteed to make anything he’s in at least watchable, perhaps Paramount knows this as the Oscar winner gets ample time in the new trailer for the not-a-sequel sequel.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back (to apparently fight again himself — what?) with Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, J.K. Simmons, Byung-Hun Lee and Matt Smith in this new timeline altering installment of the series. But why does this need to be made at all? Arnie explains. " I always said that I would do another Terminator if the story was great, and I really enjoyed this story when I read it. I think that the people who were involved made me feel like this was going to be a good movie and that they were going to go all out with the project," he told Slashfilm. "It’s not just ‘Let’s exploit this franchise and live off of some of the great ones that we’d done in the past.’ They really took it seriously. They really figured out a way to continue the story and kind of ignore the last one, basically."

Everyone involved hopes it can reinvigorate the franchise that hasn’t come close to matching the first two, James Cameron directed movies. Will Alan Taylor bring the goods to least be in the same ballpark? We’ll see.

"Terminator Genisys" arrives on July 1st.
