Watch: There's Blood & Trouble In Full Length Trailer For 'From Dusk Till Dawn' TV Series Premiering At SXSW

From Dusk Till Dawn

There’s a lot of great TV coming over the next year—you can see our list of The 20 Most Anticipated TV Shows Of 2014—but one we’re still kinda not certain on is Robert Rodriguez‘s “From Dusk Till Dawn.” Yep, the director’s little grindhouse flick is now a television show. And while we’d like to give you the plot of the series in a convenient digestible logline, it’s so bonkers, you’re just going to have to read this official synopsis:

Based on the thrill-ride film, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is a supernatural crime saga centered around bank robber, Seth Gecko (Cotrona) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard “Richie” Gecko (Holtz), who are wanted by the FBI and Texas Rangers Earl McGraw (Johnson) and Freddie Gonzalez (Garcia) after a bank heist leaves several people dead. While on the run to Mexico, Seth and Richie encounter former pastor Jacob Fuller (Patrick) and his family, whom they take hostage.  Using the family RV to cross the border, chaos ensues when the group detours to a strip club that is populated by vampires.  They are forced to fight until dawn in order to get out alive. The series deepens the tone and expands the storyline of the film, adds new characters and backstories, and explores the Mesoamerican mythology behind the creatures inside the club.

Yeah, we’re not sure that a plot that probably works best in a zany movie that runs less than two hours will still have that edge when stretched to across an entire season of programming. But what do we know. And indeed, Rodriguez and the El Rey network are feeling confident enough, that they are going to show off pilot episode at SXSW in March.

Anyway, the full length trailer is here to give you a sense of what’s coming, and it’s pure pulp, so at least it’s not pretending to be something it’s not. Starring  D.J. CotronaZane HoltzJesse Garcia, Eiza González, Wilmer Valderrama, Adrianne Palicki, Jake Busey, Don Johnson, Madison Davenport, Brandon Soo HooRobert Patrick and Lane Garrison, “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” kicks off on March 11th at 9 PM.
