nullSteven Spielberg‘s career is arguably one ping pong back and forth between one for himself and one for us: a ying and yang of blockbuster spectacle and gripping drama. And while it might seem like Spielberg’s been awol developing lots of blockbusters, his latest film "Bridge Of Spies" will be his third drama in a row and his first film since 2012’s "Lincoln."

The thriller reunites him with Tom Hanks and centers on an American lawyer who finds himself thrown into the center of the paranoid Cold War when the government authorities task him to negotiate the release of a captured American pilot. Here’s the official synopsis.

A dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, DreamWorks Pictures/Fox 2000 Pictures’ “Bridge of Spies” tells the story of James Donovan, a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. Screenwriters Matt Charman and Ethan Coen & Joel Coen have woven this remarkable experience in Donovan’s life into a story inspired by true events that captures the essence of a man who risked everything and vividly brings his personal journey to life.

Written by the Coen Brothers and co-starring Mark Rylance, Scott Shepherd, Amy Ryan, Sebastian Koch, and Alan Alda among many others, Dreamworks and Fox 2000 will release "Bridge of Spies" is in theaters on October 16, 2015. The film opens in the U.K. in November. Watch the latest trailer below.
