Watch: Trailer For Comedy 'The Oranges' With Hugh Laurie, Leighton Meester, Catherine Keener, Adam Brody & More

nullEver since its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall, the dramedy “The Oranges” seems to have had mostly quiet buzz leading up to its release in October. Hopefully that’ll all change after people catch the latest trailer showcasing an impressive ensemble comedy that looks both hilarious and heartbreaking all at once.

With a cast the boasts talent like Hugh Laurie, Oliver Platt, Leighton Meester, Katherine Keener, Alia Shawkat, Allison Janney, and Adam Brody, there’s no question this trailer is worth checking out at least for the acting chops on display. The film follows a suburban father (Laurie) who falls for the daughter (Meester) of his best friend (Platt), and things become sufficiently awkward and unpredictable for everyone involved as the affair threatens to wreck the close ties between the families. While the film is not without its flaws, our man in Toronto said in his review that it “frequently charms and delivers full belly laughs,” and if the trailer is any indication, he’s right on the money.

“The Oranges” hits theaters on October 5th. Check out the trailer and poster below.
