Watch: Trailer For 'Gomorrah' Director Matteo Garrone's 'Reality'

nullWhen Matteo Garrone burst onto the international scene with the 2008 critically-acclaimed crime drama “Gomorrah,” few would have guessed that his follow-up would revolve around the reality TV show “Big Brother,” but that’s exactly what the Italian director did with “Reality.” And after premiering at the Cannes Film Festival last spring, Oscilloscope Laboratories has released a brand new trailer for the film as it gears up to finally hit theaters.

Centering on a man who becomes obsessed with starring on “Big Brother,” to the point of driving himself further into isolation and detaching himself from, well, reality, the film received a less than enthusiastic reception compared to Garrone’s previous effort. Our own review called it “ideologically and narratively lightweight,” particularly when compared to something like Brandon Cronenberg's "Antiviral," which also played the fest, but tackled the themes of celebrity obsession in much more compelling and original manner.

Oscilloscope, the house that Adam Yauch built, will be releasing “Reality” starting March 15th in New York followed by March 22nd in Los Angeles. Check out the trailer below.
