Mark Pellington’s microbudgeted $1 million dollar John Cassavetes-inspired drama “I Melt With You” has found its fourth and final male lead. Christian McKay, perhaps best known for playing Orson Welles in Richard Linklater’s “Me And Orson Welles,” who also has a role in Woody Allen’s forthcoming “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger” has joined Thomas Jane, Rob Lowe and Jeremy Piven in Pellington’s grim film that will focus on the “pain of the modern male psyche” as it “follows four college friends now in their forties who find themselves immersed in various stages and types of mid-life crises.”
Over at Pellington Films, we have our first look at what the resulting film might look like. The video has a very haggard, tired looking Thomas Jane delivering a monologue to the camera as Pellington split screens a variety of footage including drugs, landscapes and other footage.
“I Melt With You” shoots in August.
