Watch: Trailer For Keanu Reeves' Bank Heist Comedy 'Henry's Crime'

After bearing with it at TIFF, we would prefer if we weren’t reminded about it ever again, but a trailer has arrived for the bank heist/romcom “Henry’s Crime” starring Keanu Reeves and don’t let the jazzy tone and throwaway quips fool you.

The film centers Henry (Reeves) who is sent to prison after being falsely accused and convicted of robbing a bank. While in the can, he strikes up a friendship with Max (James Caan) and decides to rob a bank for real figuring that since he did the time, he’ll actually do the crime. But then he meets Julie (Vera Farmiga) and must also balance a budding relationship. Sounds like it could be good right? Guess again. Our man at TIFF called the film “a bland and mild offense” that is “colorless and mostly devoid of animated moments.” Critical reception overall for the film was pretty poor which may be why it was able to be picked up for North American distribution by Maitland Primrose Group, with distribution being handled Moving Pictures Film & TV, two tiny little groups we’ve barely heard of. If there is any redeeming value in the film, its the awesome vintage soul-funk and afrobeat-laden soundtrack largely delivered by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and The Budos Band.

No word yet on a release date, but check out Keanu robbing a bank after the jump. [Vulture]
