Watch: Trailer For Sufjan Stevens Family Doc 'Crooked River'; Not Coming Soon

Last year it was announced that indie rock deity Sufjan Stevens would be teaming with CastanetsRaymond Raposa to compose the soundtrack to Kaleo La Belle‘s documentary “Beyond This Place.” In the film, La Belle attempts to reconnect/confront his deadbeat, hippie dad. Turns out, that’s some pretty familiar territory for Stevens.

Back a few years ago, La Belle turned the camera on Stevens for the documentary “Crooked River,” which chronicles Sufjan and his brother Marzuki‘s journey to see their father in Michigan (just like the album!) who they haven’t seen in years. Well, the 52-minute film has never had a release, and there are no plans yet in place, but a new trailer has been cut for the film which if anything, reveals that Sufjan is stone cold killer on Pac-Man. Seriously, dude is mad focused (also, Marzuki loves his snacks). If this whole music thing fizzles out, Billy Mitchell could have some serious competition.

Anyway, check out the trailer below. To keep up to date on the film, hit their Facebook page. [Pitchfork]
