Watch: Trailer For 'The Signal' Starring Laurence Fishburne Will Get You Agitated

A lot of movies play the Sundance Film Festival so we’re not able to see everything, and “The Signal” was one of those things we missed this year. But perhaps we should have tried harder to make this one. The first trailer for the mysterious sci-fi thriller is here, and the combination of dazzling visuals and an enigmatic hook has grabbed our attention.

Rising star Brenton Thwaites and Laurence Fishburne feature in William Eubank‘s (“Love“) latest, which seems to involve trouble with the titular signal, some kind of major conspiracy and some pretty eye-popping action. We’d explain the plot if we could in a few words, but this longer synopsis will do a better job of setting things up:

Nick and Jonah are MIT freshmen with a passion for hacking. While driving cross-country through Nevada with Nick’s girlfriend, Hailey, they follow rival hacker Nomad’s clues to a location 180 miles away. After a terrifying confrontation with Nomad in the middle of the desert, the trio regain consciousness in captivity. Struggling to comprehend the true nature of their confinement, they discover they are part of a plot much larger than themselves.

Yeah, we’re still not quite sure if we understand but on June 13th we can all find out. Watch below.
