Watch: Trailers For Sundance 2015 Documentary Award Winners 'Dark Horse' & 'Dreamcatcher'

Dark Horse DreamcatcherSome of the most powerful dramas being told at the movies right now are in documentaries, with the form getting more popular year by year. Audiences are following along, intrigued to see stories from the world around them they may not have known about, and this year at Sundance, two movies drew major buzz in the documentary category, won prizes, and now the trailers are here.

First up is "Dark Horse," which took the World Cinema Audience Award. Directed by Louise Osmond, it tells the tale of a barmaid at a men’s club in a mining town in Wales, who hatches a crazy plan to breed a winning racehorse. With locals pitching in money and support, the steed, Dream Alliance, takes to the track and wins over hearts and minds. The film opens in the U.K. on April 17th, but there’s no stateside date yet from distributors Sony Pictures Classics. Read our review.

Next is "Dreamcatcher," which won the World Cinema Directing Award. Helmed by Kim Longinotto, this film profiles Brenda, a former drug-addict and prostitute in Chicago, who turned her live around and is now devoted to helping others in same situation she found herself in.
