A sprawling tale set against the backdrop of bits and bytes, filmmaker Henry Alex Rubin — the Oscar-nominated director of the documentary “Murderball” — tackles the internet age in his first feature in seven years, “Disconnect.” It heads to theaters this weekend and a new clip from the movie has dropped online.
Rounding up a pretty nice ensemble — Jason Bateman, Hope Davis, Frank Grillo, Michael Nyqvist, Paula Patton, Andrea Riseborough, Alexander Skarsgård, Max Thieriot and fashion designer Marc Jacobs (for real!)– the film dives right into dangers of the digital era with multiple storylines that linger and overlap; ranging in subject matter from identity thief, illicit sexual encounters, bullying and more. In the clip below, we see one very young man getting in involved in something something both sexual and shady, and again, yes, that’s Marc Jacobs getting his creep on.
Featuring a score by Max Richter, the movie arrives on April 12th. Check out the clip below along with a slew of new images from the movie.
