Watch: Two 20-Minute Plus Talks With Jake Gyllenhaal About 'Nightcrawler' And New Pics

NightcrawlerPost-“Prince of Persia," Jake Gyllenhaal has demonstrated a much stronger artistic output. Following up this year’s terrific “Enemy,” Gyllenhaal turns up next in the directorial debut of Dan Gilroy, “Nightcrawler.” Following the thriller’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival —you can read our glowing review here— the actor submitted to a couple of long interviews regarding the film, which have now arrived online.

First up is the most recent interview Gyllenhaal did for the CBC Radio show “Q with Jian Ghomeshi,” which finds the actor discussing both what he found most interesting about his character in the Gilroy film and why he choose to be a producer on the film, among many other things.

As part of the official TIFF festivities, Gyllenhaal also sat down for a twenty-minute Q&A session with a member of the Indiewire editorial team. It’s a fascinating discussion that yields some new information about “Nightcrawler,” like how cinematographer Robert Elswit joined Gilroy and Gyllenhaal for their research for the film, an unusual move for most DPs.

You can watch the two interviews below, and check out a handful of new images as well. “Nightcrawler” hits theaters on October 31st.
