Watch: U.S. Trailer For Terry Gilliam's 'The Zero Theorem' Tries To Solve A Riddle

The Zero TheoremYeah, we know. It seems like there have been a zillion trailers for this thing already, and you’re right, there have been (not to mention a poster banned by the MPAA). But the U.S. release for Terry Gilliam‘s "The Zero Theorem" is finally on the horizon, so yes, that means another trailer, but it’s a reminder that there are few filmmakers out there who deliver a cinematic experience quite like Gilliam.

The basics you already known at this point. Christoph Waltz, Mélanie Thierry, Lucas Hedges Tilda Swinton, David Thewlis and Matt Damon star in this one about a reclusive, angsty computer genius tasked with solving a riddle that will render the meaning of life as, well, nothing. And the existential task is made more difficult by a constant parade of visitors—including a teenager and a very sexy woman—while he battles his own objections to what seems like a soul-crushing job. And while that might sound a touch out there, it’s all spun in the capable hands of Gilliam, who knows these kinds of thematic concerns like the back of his hand.

"The Zero Theorem" opens on Friday, September 19th, but will hit On Demand and on iTunes first on August 19th. Watch below along with new pics.
