Ah, the omnipresent top ten list. I can say for certain that I am a sucker for such summaries, particularly when our friends at CineFix decide to tackle the laborious task of choosing the most beautiful animated movies of all time.
When beauty and animation are paired, my mind immediately drifts to Studio Ghibli, and they land on this list with the elegant minimalism of "The Tale of Princess Kayuga." What? No Miyazaki? Now, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and in this case we think they’ve certainly made some risky, but intelligent choices. Keep in mind that these films were chosen solely based on the shallow, one-sided criteria of appearance (hence Miyazaki’s absence — his films are congruently intellectual).

Disney makes their obligatory appearances on the list with “The Lion King” and “WALL-E," and there’s a well merited place for Wes Anderson’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “The Fantastic Mr. Fox.”
