Watch: Video For M.I.A.'s New Single 'Bad Girls' Directed By 'Our Day Will Come' Helmer Romain Gavras

nullM.I.A. is back! And she's going mainstream! Set to appear alongside Madonna and Nicki Minaj at the Super Bowl this weekend, that performance will certainly be one of the more bizarre to ever grace the already dodgy history of halftime shows, and in a perfectly calibrated marketing move, the former revolution chanting hip hop artist has dropped her new single "Bad Girls."

It seems Maya Arulpragasam has given up on the political rhetoric that thrust her into the spotlight (her last mixtape was called Vicki Leekz…get it!?) and gone into party jam mode instead. It sells more records anyway. Directed by Romain Gavras — the helmer behind the seamy "Our Day Will Come" as well as M.I.A.'s controversial ginger killing video "Born Free" — is behind the camera for what is essentially lots of car stunts in a desert. Bangin'. And you won't believe it, but M.I.A. wears some weird clothes in it too. No way.

Anyway, watch it below. We have to admit that transparent 'Tron' car or whatever is pretty neat. [via Stereogum]
