1984 was a pretty insane year for movies with “Beverly Hills Cop,” “Ghostbusters,” “Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom,” “Police Academy” and more all landing in theaters. But few matched the pure zaniness of Joe Dante‘s “Gremlins.” It took the idea of getting a new pet and turned it into something truly monstrous, and moreover, it brought together the B-movie leanings of Joe Dante inside the blockbuster structure of producer Steven Spielberg, creating something truly memorable. LoSceicco1976 has pointed us in the direction of a vintage featurette “Gremlins: Behind The Scenes.” We’re not sure what it was put together for—perhaps a VHS release of some kind or TV special—but fans will surely get a kick out of the footage from the set, interviews with Dante, Spielberg, star Zach Galligan and more, and really just getting a vibe of what the shoot was all about.
