Watch: Will Ferrell Is Still Hilarious In Spanish, Trailer For 'House Of My Father'

We have to say, we’re pretty impressed by Will Ferrell‘s ability to speak Spanish, and while we were initially a little bit in the dark about what this mysterious project, “Casa de mi padre” (aka “House of My Father“) — a front-to-back Spanish language comedy featuring the funnyman — would turn out to be, the first trailer is just plain hilarious.

Dug up by Gordon And The Whale, not much is given away in terms of plot but it looks to be just as ridiculous as “Anchorman” or “Old School” with a character — Armando Alvarez — that could rank up there with Ron Burgundy. Billed as an “overly dramatic telenovela,” the plot is summarized thusly by IMDb: “Armando Alvarez (Will Ferrell) has lived and worked on his father’s ranch in Mexico his entire life. As the ranch encounters financial difficulties, Armando’s younger brother Raul (Diego Luna), shows up with his new fiancé, Sonia (Genesis Rodriguez). It seems that Raul’s success as an international businessman means the ranch’s troubles are over as he pledges to settle all debts his father has incurred. But when Armando falls for Sonia, and Raul’s business dealings turn out to be less than legit, all hell breaks loose as they find themselves in a war with Mexico’s most feared drug lord, the mighty Onza (Gael García Bernal).”
