The day of “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is soon, everybody. It’ll be everywhere next week, and in this day and age (rather than some alternate, sideburn-filled ’70s past) that means lots and lots of clips and snippets and featurettes all over the place for the next few days. So here are some which apparently are technically called “power pieces.” Sounds like Wolverine’s euphemism for his, ahem, claws.
Anyway, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is only one of five characters profiled in these minute-long trailerettes, alongside Magneto (Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen, depending on the timeline), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Blink (Fan Bingbing) and Storm (Halle Berry). While we’re pretty familiar by now with Magneto, Beast, Wolverine and the movie’s premise—the X-Men from a darker, near-apocalyptic timeline sending Wolverine back to the 70s to avert it—Blink is a character we haven’t yet seen in the X-men movie franchise. Her clip is consequently the most interesting one, showcasing a fancy-looking fight sequence that uses her teleporting powers to their full potential.
Reviews for the film have just begun to come in, but the only way to know for sure will be to see it for yourself come the 22nd. Check out the vids below along with a new clip featuring Magneto showing his stadium destroying powers.
