“Game Of Thrones” is coming, and as one of the biggest pop culture phenomenon’s going right now, HBO isn’t wasting a hot minute in trying expanding the audience of those invested in the characters and stories continuing to play out in Westeros. And they’re getting creative with how they do it, recently commissioning a free mixtape (listen here) of tunes inspired by the show. And today, they’re going back in time.
A light, breezy and amusing five minute video detailing the history of show has landed online. Narrated by Charlies Dance (aka Tywin Lannister), executive producers and writers David Benioff and Dan Weiss share how the project went from a bunch of books that arrived in their offices, to meeting with author George R.R. Martin, to getting “Game Of Thrones” on HBO. If you wanted to know how this all began, look no further.
And once you’re all caught up, be sure to tune on April 6th for the start of season four. Watch below.
