By this point, the zombie genre has been picked over like a vulture pecking at a skull. We’ve seen the zom-com; the rom-zom-com; Nazi Zombies; “Flight Of The Living Dead,” with zombies that happen to be a on a plane; “Gangs Of The Dead,” which is sort of like a “Zombies N’ Da Hood” type film (no, really); and pretty much any iteration of zombie you can think of is out there, though much of it is straight-to-video Z-movie junk. But hey, why not make a zombie movie where the undead face off against scouts? That’s the clever premise of “Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse,” which sounds like an excuse to just riff on the “what would you do during a Zombie Apocalypse?" meme that has invaded pop culture.

Here’s the synopsis:
Three scouts and lifelong friends join forces with one badass cocktail waitress to become the world’s most unlikely team of heroes. When their peaceful town is ravaged by a zombie invasion, they’ll fight for the badge of a lifetime and put their scouting skills to the test to save mankind from the undead.
And a new red band clip has zombie strippers trying to eat teen scouts, which may seem fresh, but actually, “Zombie Strippers” is a movie that’s out there, so maybe this isn’t so special.
Directed by Christopher Landon, ‘Scouts Guide’ stars Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, Joey Morgan, Sarah Dumont, and David Koechner, and is due in theaters on October 30th from Paramount. Check out the aforementioned red band clip below, as well as a couple cheeky “how-to” videos.
