'Watchmen' Screenwriter David Hayter Calls Fox "Satan"

Hollywood Outbreak talked to “Watchmen” screenwriter David Hayter recently and asked his thoughts on the legal brouhaha between Warner Bros. and 20th Centry Fox. Hayter, who had already worked with Fox before, penning “X-Men” and “X-Men 2” went off and called the studio, “Satan.”

“I was fully under the belief that they had the potential to shut down the movie and remake it themselves out of pure spite and meanness. They’re a rough group of people and they are somewhat ethically challenged.”

“My experience told me that they could shut down this movie, and lock it away in Rupert’s vault and make it the most unseen desired cult movie of all time, but I was extremely concerned. Many producer friends of mine said the same thing as [one-time Watchmen writer] Alex [Tse] – that they’re just going for money or whatever — but I was like, ‘Yeah, okay, but there’s something beyond money going on at that studio and it has to do with Satan.”

Guess that means, no more Fox films for Hayter? According to Defamer, an internal Fox email document that made the rounds allegedly said that “executives there felt the script was one of the most unintelligible pieces of shit they had read in years.” Btw, Hayter also calls Zack Snyder a “visionary fan.” Maybe that’s where WB got their marketing angle from. 😉 [via Defamer]
