As seen in the official trailer that was released months ago, Wes Anderson’s latest film, “The French Dispatch,” brings together a collection of stories that were to be published in the fictional American magazine that is based in a fictional French city. Yes, it’s very quirky and very Wes Anderson. And now, Searchlight Pictures has taken it upon themselves to release three separate teasers that highlight each of the stories you’ll see in the film.
As with any Wes Anderson film, the director has pulled together one hell of a cast for “The French Dispatch,” which includes Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray, and Owen Wilson. And in the teasers you can watch below, you see how each of them has their own role in one of the various stories that populate the final issue of the aforementioned magazine.
In our review from Cannes, we said, “‘The French Dispatch,’ Mr. Anderson’s entry in the competitive section of what we francophones like to call Le Soixante-Quatorzième Festival de Cannes, is a work of such unparalleled Andersonian wit, that at times the sheer level of detail – mobile, static, graphic and typographic – that bedecked the screen was enough to make your correspondent’s jaw slacken.”
