I don’t know how Netflix‘s data analytics works — in fact, nobody really does — but it would appear that Adam Devine seems to score well with a certain segment of their viewers. The streaming giant already has one comedy on the way this year with the actor in “Game Over, Man!” but landing first is “When We First Met,” a romantic comedy that arrives just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Co-starring Alexandra Daddario, and directed by Oscar winner Ari Sandel (he won Best Live Action short for “West Bank Story“; he also helmed “The DUFF“), the story follows a young man who meets the girl of his dreams, only to get friendzoned. But, a trip back in time gives him a second chance to try and win over the girl, because there is no movie more appropriate for the #MeToo and #TimesUp movement, than a romance where a guy just can’t take no for an answer. Here’s the official synopsis:
Noah (Adam Devine) spends the perfect first night with Avery (Alexandra Daddario), the girl of his dreams, but gets relegated to the friend zone. He spends the next three years wondering what went wrong – until he gets the unexpected chance to travel back in time and alter that night – and his fate – over and over again. Will Noah ever get it right?
“When We First Met” hits Netflix on February 9th.
