Hollywood has been coming for Damien Szifron, the writer/director behind the Oscar-nominated "Wild Tales." He has already been tapped to pen the screenplay for Mark Wahlberg‘s "The Six Billion Dollar Man," and Tri-Star has him lined up to direct his first English-language film. But he’s got an even more exciting project lining up.

Deadline reports that Szifron will write and direct the entire run of the sci-fi limited series "The Stranger." Heck yes. Media Rights Capital is backing the project, which will be the first U.S. television foray for Szifron (who has done plenty of TV writing in his native Argentina). And this one sounds big. Though plot specifics aren’t being shared, it apparently has a global scope and will feature multiple languages. Let’s just hope the eventual synopsis is a bit more comprehensible than The Wachowskis’ "Sense8."
Szifron is currently writing the project, and the plan is to find the talent and build an attractive package before shopping it around. I dunno, I’m kinda sold already and think that everything else will be gravy.
