There was a time when pairing up John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell for a comedy was a bit of an oddity, but after “Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby” and more importantly, “Step Brothers,” we’ll watch these two guys in anything. Thankfully, they’ve got a new project cooking.
The Wrap reports that Ferrell and Reilly will star in “Devil’s Night.” Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul (who both wrote Jim Carrey‘s “Yes Man“) have penned this tale that takes on place on the night before Halloween, the unofficial holiday of mischief known as Devil’s Night. Ferrell and Reilly will play Leonard and Gabe, former best friends who had their friendship torn apart by the destruction filled evening, who have to reunite to save their neighborhood. Simple enough premise, that will give plenty of opportunity for these two to riff, which is just fine by us.
But don’t get too excited. This is still in development and there’s no director attached, so it could be a while before this happens. Until we know more, watch the “Step Brothers” blooper real because it’s amazing.
