Is Josh Holloway going to trade up his smoldering bad boy schtick on “Lost” for a role in the Marvel universe?
According to AvengersNews — whose track record we’re not really sure of — they’ve received word that Holloway is reportedly in talks for a “lead” role in an forthcoming, unspecified Marvel universe film. So which one will it be? AvengersNews speculates it could be Clint Barton/Hawkeye (a role once also rumored for Jeremy Renner), Timothy “Dum Dum” Dugan or Henry Pym in a potential “S.H.I.E.L.D.” and/or “Avengers” spin off movie.
As one our resident comic fans notes, Marvel is probably “in talks” with everyone, in a “we’ll keep our options open” kind of way. Holloway was at one point considered for the role of Gambit, which never panned out but he’s probably still in the Marvel rolodex. Holloway does have that rugged, all-American bad ass thing down and we think he’d be a good player for any of those roles. We’re actually a little surprised he hasn’t had more film offers; he had a sort of really good charming asshole routine down on “Lost” that would work well on the big screen. Perhaps his chance will arrive soon.
