Woody Allen's 'Wonder Wheel' To Close New York Film Festival

It doesn’t get much more New York than Woody Allen closing the New York Film Festival.

Organizers have announced today that “Wonder Wheel,” the new film from the ceaselessly working director, will be the closing night movie of the festival. Starring Kate Winslet, Justin Timberlake, Juno Temple and James Belushi, plot details are under wraps as is standard protocol for Allen’s pics, but what we do know is that the film is set in the 1950s, and will feature larger-than-life characters, lovers, infidelity, and gangsters. It doesn’t sound particularly like awards season fare, but Amazon clearly thinks they might have a contender with this picture.

“Wonder Wheel” opens on December 1st. [THR]
