‘In every scene we asked ourselves, ‘How would these people feel if they came back to the Hunger Games?’,” producer Nina Jacobson told EW recently regarding the mission of respecting the heart of author Suzanne Collins’ sequel, “Catching Fire.” “What happens when you come back from these experiences of war, not what happens in a movie when you’ve kicked a lot of ass?” In the case of Katniss and Peeta, they come back from the initial “Hunger Games” as heroes, but not for long.
In the “Hunger Games” sequel Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem. And President Snow (Donald Sutherland) seems to be happy to put them down. Hope is stronger than fear, but can it last? The final trailer for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” has arrived and it just debuted during the World Series (spooooorts!). The film opens on November 22 and will debut at the Rome Film Festival a few days prior. Watch it below.
