It’s a shame that “Sicario” and “Hell Or High Water” screenwriter Taylor Sheridan‘s directorial debut “Wind River” was tarnished by The Weinstein Company implosion. Who knows what could’ve happened had it entered the awards race without that cloud hanging over it (even as the team behind the movie distanced themselves entirely from the distributor). Nonetheless, fans of the filmmaker going to have a whole lot more coming their way in the year ahead. “Sicario 2: Soldado” hits cinemas this summer, while on the small screen, Sheridan is going Peak TV with “Yellowstone.”
The new show from Paramount Networks is led by Kevin Costner, and sees Sheridan settle into his familiar setting of the contemporary west, and follows the the dynasty of the Dutton family. Here’s the official synopsis:
“Yellowstone” follows the violent world of the Dutton family, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. Led by their patriarch John Dutton, the family defends their property against constant attack by land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park.
Co-starring Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, and Cole Hauser, “Yellowstone” arrives in June.
