Yes, Juan Antonio Bayona Might WILL Direct ‘Eclipse’
Your non-news “Twilight”/ “Eclipse” update for the day. Anne Thompson reported weeks ago that Guillermo del Toro protege Juan Antonio Bayona (“The Orphanage”) was one of the directors being considered to helm the third “Twilight” film titled, “Eclipse.”

Today, THR adds that yes, he’s being considered.Names considered so far include Paul Weitz, Drew Barrymore and James Mangold (“3:10 To Yuma”), but the Risky biz blog seems to subtly suggest that Bayona is the frontrunner and a reoccuring name for Summit Entertainment, who need to decide on a director quick considering it comes out June 30, 2010. Maybe they do want a male filmmaker for the series after all. All this casting buzz suggests Summit is going to announce a winner soon.
