"You Know You Gotta Have A Trailer For A Trailer These Days": 'Expendables 2' Teaser Proves The Lame Point

nullRemember the days when a trailer was just a simple marketing tool for a movie? Now, you need a marketing tool for your marketing tool. Or, as Terry Crews says in this near pointless micro-teaser for "The Expendables 2," "You know that you've got to have a trailer for the trailer now, son."

You do? It's a sad state of tentpole marketing that it's come to this, but the teaser of the teaser is becoming an increasingly popular promotion method for tentpoles if only because it allows the studio to slice and dice a little more. But in the end, what does it really serve? Are the fans sated? Surely, we're at fault for even paying attention here because the best method is to just ignore and flip the channel, but let's not kid ourselves too much. We are all complicit in movie marketing by simply posting posters, trailers, photos, etc. But this feels like another level, and by another level, we mean one below the sufarce in the same drain pipes that feces flows through. Oh and here's two new 'Expendables 2' photos too!  Excuse me while I shoot myself… [HeyUGuys/AllMoviePhoto]
