Director Joel Schumacher is going to keep making movies whether or not anybody wants to see them. While mainstream audiences probably remember his last outing, the silly conspiracy thriller “The Number 23,” he’s actually made two more movies since: the horror pic “Blood Creek” and the godawful teens ‘n drugs movie “Twelve.” Well, for better or worse, Schumacher is back.
Variety reports that he’s now on aboard to helm “The Hive.” Penned by Richard D’Ovidio, who brings with him such noble credits as “Thir13en Ghosts” and “Exit Wounds,” the film will follow “an emergency operator who must confront a killer from her past to save a young girl’s life.” Anyway, this is set up over at Troika Pictures and no start date has yet been announced.
But hell, if you’re curious to see what Schumacher has next up for your sleeve, he recently directed the thriller “Trespass” starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman and it should hit theaters later this year.
