While is name is longer associated with Warner Bros. unfolding cinematic universe of DC movies, Christopher Nolan lent his input, brand and producing stamp on "Man Of Steel," along with David S. Goyer, who wrote the screenplay and the forthcoming followup, "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice." And as ideas were being tossed around for the Superman movie, Zack Snyder had a brainwave about how to reintroduce Batman, and set up the battle between the two comic book titans, and he pitched it to both Nolan and Goyer.
“I said, ‘What about at the end of the movie we do a scene where there’s a crate full of kryptonite delivered to Wayne Manor,’” Snyder told EW. “Everyone was like…‘Okaay.’ Once you say it out loud it’s a problem because you can’t unsay it.”
It’s not exactly the most subtle scene to introduce and thankfully, that idea got nixed, with something of a more measured approach hopefully being taken for ‘Dawn Of Justice.’ The Batman we meet here is weary, while mankind has turned on Superman.
“I like to think that ‘Man of Steel’ was the perspective of the world from Clark, Kal-El, looking at the world and trying to exist with in it,” Henry Cavill told the magazine. “ ‘Batman v Superman’ is definitely more mankind’s perspective of Superman.”
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck shared how his Batman is much grimmer than we’ve seen before. “He’s on the verge of being swallowed up by the anger and the rage that we see haunt this character in the other manifestations of it,” he said. “But this guy is further down the line and has become more embittered and cynical.”
"Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" arrives on March 25, 2016.
