Zack Snyder Says He Wants To Make A Movie About George Washington In The Style Of '300'

300If there is anything you can say about the cinematic oeuvre of Zack Sndyer, it’s that it’s not delicate. There’s no subtlety to found in the works of Snyder, nor nuance. For better or worse, his pictures are big and loud — very, very loud. And he wants to apply his crude touch to one of the greatest figures in American history.

Bloomberg Pursuits recently profiled the director, tracking the arc of his career, and while Snyder is currently mired in the world of DC Films, with "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" opening in a few weeks and "Justice League" slated to shoot next month, he has aspirations beyond that — namely, a movie about George Washington.

Just totally easy breezy, right? Get some dudes in old-timey clothes on a sound stage, give them a script written in ALL CAPS, and reduce American history to a bunch of action beats and sweaty bodies. Done. Snyder certainly doesn’t overthink his movies, which also might be the exact problem with them….

‘Batman v Superman’ opens on March 25th. Update: As readers have pointed out, "Robot Chicken" had a spoof of Snyder’s idea years ago…check it out below. [via AV Club]
