If there is anything you can say about the cinematic oeuvre of Zack Sndyer, it’s that it’s not delicate. There’s no subtlety to found in the works of Snyder, nor nuance. For better or worse, his pictures are big and loud — very, very loud. And he wants to apply his crude touch to one of the greatest figures in American history.
Bloomberg Pursuits recently profiled the director, tracking the arc of his career, and while Snyder is currently mired in the world of DC Films, with "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" opening in a few weeks and "Justice League" slated to shoot next month, he has aspirations beyond that — namely, a movie about George Washington.

“We were talking about it. The first thing we asked was, well, how are we going to make it look? I pointed at this painting [of Washington crossing the Delaware River]. It looks like ‘300.’ It’s not that hard,” he said.
Just totally easy breezy, right? Get some dudes in old-timey clothes on a sound stage, give them a script written in ALL CAPS, and reduce American history to a bunch of action beats and sweaty bodies. Done. Snyder certainly doesn’t overthink his movies, which also might be the exact problem with them….
