'Zack Snyder's Justice League' Trailer Re-Released: Black & White With The Leonard Cohen Music Issues Worked Out

Two weeks ago, it was revealed that the trailer for “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” was pulled from social media after being up for months due to a music rights issue with Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” Well, it appears that instead of just re-uploading the original trailer after the rights issue was dealt with, Zack Snyder and Co. decided to release a brand-new trailer. And by “brand-new,” we mean the same exact trailer with a couple of extra shots, black and white instead of color, and yes, “Hallelujah.”

As seen in the “new” trailer for “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” the film looks, well, exactly like it did before, except with no color. The tone is decidedly more dark and dour than the theatrical cut that was overseen by Joss Whedon after Snyder had to step away due to a personal tragedy. So, if you are one of the many Snyder Cut Faithful, then you are probably excited by the idea of more of the same, even if the extra shots are difficult to parse out. However, if you were hoping that another look at the film might convince you that WarnerMedia spending $70 million to finish Snyder’s vision is a good idea, this ain’t gonna do it.

Without going into the drama behind “Justice League,” suffice it to say that this is a project that has elicited quite a number of strong opinions for and against it. There are folks that think the budget given to Snyder to finish the film is exorbitant and wasteful, while others feel that its the least WB could do after the issues Snyder had with the final cut. Regardless, HBO Max is where you’ll be able to find the Snyder Cut of “Justice League” when it does get its release. Is it going to be four parts or six? Will there be an IMAX release? Is there going to be a 4K UHD special edition release? Who knows? At this point, we’re just waiting to see when this will finally get done and if all the hype was worth it.

You can watch the new trailer below. As of now, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” is expected to arrive sometime in the first half of 2021 on HBO Max. Oh and take a look at the Vero message about the Snyder Cut because it’s, uh, interesting.

Update: a regular color version was released too. Black and white was just the exclusive Vero version, I guess. Also, look at the title of the YouTube clip. It may mean the final title is changing to “Justice League: Director’s Cut,” as Snyder has already warned, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” might not make the final legal cut.
