The first reviews are out of the way, the details of the post-credits scenes are out there for those that want to be spoiled, and Marvel is going full throttle on "Ant-Man" before it opens in a few weeks. And James Gunn, who is probably the studio’s best spokesman after Kevin Feige, has gushed enthusiastically after seeing the movie.
Hitting Facebook as per usual, the "Guardians Of The Galaxy" director stated that "Ant-Man" is his favorite Marvel movie since Jon Favreau‘s "Iron Man" way back in 2008. He praises the cast, how the movie deals with explaining its slightly sci-fi concept, and adds: "So often I see movies by people I love which are just okay – it’s great to love a movie as much as I love the people who made it."
Okay, so he’s biased, but Gunn’s word will still certainly sway some folks who remain on the fence. Particularly those chafing at Edgar Wright‘s departure, with Gunn noting Wright’s "spirit is felt" throughout. "Ant-Man" opens on July 17th. Check out Gunn’s full comments below.
