Dakota Fanning Joins 'Motel Life' With Emile Hirsch & Stephen Dorff; Also Goes 'Mississippi Wild'

Robert Duvall, Mickey Rourke & Forest Whitaker Also In Talks For ‘Mississippi Wild’

It looks like Stephen Dorff is going to find out what working with the other Fanning sister is like. Variety reports that Dakota Fanning has signed on for a couple of films that should keep her busy for the next little while.

First up, she’s come aboard “The Motel Life” that currently has Emile Hirsch set to star and recently added the aforementioned Dorff. Based on the novel by Willy Vlautin, the story “centers on two brothers who flee their Reno motel room after getting involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident.” We presume Hirsch and Dorff play the brothers, but no word yet on Fanning’s role. The film will get in front of cameras this month with Alan and Gabriel Polsky directing.

After that, Fanning will head up the the indie thriller “Mississippi Wild.” Written and set to be directed by Jesse Baget, the story “follows a teen (that will be played by Ryan Donowho) who has to go on the run with his girlfriend after stealing diamonds that belong to a local gangster.” Fanning will play the teen’s girlfriend and a trio of thesps — Robert Duvall, Mickey Rourke and Forest Whitaker — are in talks to join the film, with Rourke eyeing the role of the gangster. Lensing on ‘Wild’ will begin on March 21st.

And that’s not all the busy Fanning has on her plate. As you might recall, she also signed on the period picGirls’ Night Out” earlier this month in which she’ll play Princess Margaret out on the town after the end of WWII.
