First Look: Michael Fassbender In 'Assassin's Creed'

Assassin's CreedMichael Fassbender‘s lastest budding bromance is with director Justin Kurzel. They’ve already collaborated on the grimy "Macbeth" (check out some new posters and images), and for their next effort the duo are completely shifting gears from the Bard and going to the world of video game adaptation with "Assassin’s Creed." And today the first look is here.

Marion Cotillard reteams with the pair as well for this one that takes the popular, stealthy, button-mashing franchise and attempts to break the curse of most video game movies not being all that great. Here’s the official synopsis: Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.

"Assassin’s Creed" opens on December 21, 2016. [Yahoo]
