First Look: Will Ferrell & Zach Galifianakis In 'The Campaign'

nullEntertainment Weekly has the first official photo of Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis in the political satire "The Campaign." Directed by Jay Roach ("Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery," "Meet The Parents") and formerly known as "Dogfight," the comedy centers on two rival North Carolina politicians with presidential aspirations who tangle with one another.

And one of them becomes entangled in a public scandal that chances the temperature of the political race. "I have a bit of an ethical slip," Ferrell told EW about his character's early arc which leaves room for an unlikely candidate played by Galifianakis. "I leave a highly sexual message on a very Christian family's answering machine thinking I'm calling my mistress." Classy and comical.

Also starring Jason Sudeikis, Dylan McDermott, Brian Cox, John Lithgow and Dan Aykroyd, "The Campaign" is due in theaters August 10 just a few months before this year's U.S. presidential election. Lets assume that Romney, Santorum, Gingrich and Ron Paul have been nothing but immense fodder for this film. Let's hope they didn't have to do too many rewrites considering all the deliciously funny gaffes the candidates have pulled this year.
