Wait a minute? A movie with Mackenzie Davis and Alia Shawkat and Carrie Coon and Lakeith Stanfield (and Haley Joel Osment and Alex Russell) — how did we not know about “Izzy Gets The F*ck Across Town“? It even played a bunch of festivals. Well, it’s here, and while it doesn’t necessarily look good, we’re still going to watch the heck out of it.
Written and directed by Christian Papierniak, this look like you’re everyday indie comedy, this one focusing on a woman who gets hung up on her ex-boyfriend’s new romance leading to a bunch of bad (and presumably hilarious) decisions. Here’s the official synopsis:
Riot grrrl rocker and shameless hot mess Izzy wakes up hungover AF to find out that her ex-boyfriend is celebrating his engagement to her ex-best friend tonight at a bougie party across town. Enraged and desperate, Izzy embarks on a frenetic quest across Los Angeles to break up the party in order to fulfill what she believes to be her destiny … before it’s too late. A favorite from the festival circuit, IZZY GETS THE F*CK ACROSS TOWN is a delightfully chaotic indie comedy that showcases the absurdity and mayhem that is Izzy’s life.
“Izzy Gets The F*ck Across Town” opens on May 4th.
