Margot Robbie Lines Up 'Bad Monkeys' & 'Queen Of The Air'

Even for many of the harshest critics of “Suicide Squad,” Margot Robbie, as Harley Quinn, was a standout in the film. And really, her star hasn’t dulled since she broke out in Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf Of Wall Street,” and Hollywood is eager to work with the actress, who has quickly booked two more gigs over the last couple of weeks.

First up, Robbie has signed on to star in and produce the film “Bad Monkeys.” The action-crime thriller sees Robbie play Jane Charlotte, a murder suspect who says she’s a member of a secret organization called the Department for the Final Disposition of Irredeemable Persons. The group, otherwise known as Bad Monkeys, eliminates perpetrators of heinous crimes that would otherwise elude justice. The film is based on the Matt Ruff novel of the same name.

Along with “Bad Monkeys,” Robbie is also set to star in the true story tale “Queen of the Air” for Warner Bros. Robbie will play acrobat Lillian Leitzel, who was a famous trapeze artist in the 1920s that died tragically. The film will tell the story of Leitzel and her marriage with fellow acrobat Alfredo Codona. The film will be produced by Andrew Lazar, from “American Sniper,” and based on a script by Cat Vasko.

No release dates are set for these films, but clearly Robbie has a busy schedule ahead of her. But whether or not that schedule will also include the much discussed Harley Quinn spinoff vehicle, remains to be seen. [Variety/Deadline]
