'Men Who Stare At Goats' Finally Gets Picked Up, New TV Spot For 'Funny People'

Overture Films have picked up domestic rights to Grant Heslov’s “The Men Who Stare At Goats.” The stars, among others, George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges and is based on the story surrounding the existence of a secret, psychic military unit whose aims to use paranormal powers to end war. Steve Brill is set for helm two upcoming comedy projects. The first is an untitled comedy pitch revolves around a wealthy older couple who, after losing all their money in a Wall Street Ponzi scheme are forced to move in with their loser son. The second, titled “Last Semester,” is about a Harvard couple who decide to temporarily break up and date other people in their final semester for the total “college experience.” [Variety]

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy will star in Marc Erlbaum’s indie-drama “Cafe.” Alexa Vega, Madeline Carroll, Daniel Eric Gold and Hubble Palmer also appear as Philadelphia residents who frequent the title local West Philly Grounds coffee shop.
