It’s unclear whether it’s a good thing or not when the buzz surrounding a film titled “The Flash” is solely about Batman. But yet, that seems to be the case, as the new DC superhero film about the Fastest Man Alive, played by Ezra Miller, seemingly is set to feature multiple actors returning as Batman due to the multiversal story. One of those folks is Michael Keaton, who recently spoke about returning to the role for the first time in 30 years.

In an interview with Jake’s Takes, Keaton was asked what it’s like to put on the cape and cowl, returning to the role of Batman for the first time since Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns” back in 1992. And somewhat surprisingly, at least for the actor, the whole thing felt normal.
“It was shockingly normal,” said Keaton. “It was weird. I was like, ‘Oh, oh yeah, that’s right.’ But then you also start to play the scenes and it’s a lot of memories. A lot of memories. A lot of interesting things like sense memories actually.”
When asked if he said the iconic “I am Batman” line, the actor joked that he was experiencing technical difficulties and couldn’t hear the question.
“The Flash” is expected to tell a story loosely inspired by the “Flashpoint” storyline in the comic books. In that story, Barry Allen, aka The Flash, uses his superspeed to travel back in time to stop the murder of his mom. However, when doing that, he cracks open the multiverse and creates a whole new reality. While we’re unsure how Keaton’s Batman fits into things or how Ben Affleck is set to return as the Caped Crusader, as well, it’s clear Barry Allen screws up the timeline so much that crazy shit happens.
“The Flash” is expected to arrive in theaters on November 4, 2022.
